So I will admit that my collegate brother sent me this little application for iTunes but at least it made me stop playing Edward 40hands. iPowerHour is a little app created by Joe Walsh up at MIT. The concept is simple, every 60 seconds the program reshuffles you playlist and brings you a new 60 second song clip. The rest... well... you know the rest. This is a Mac version because that's what we use but there is a
PC version here. Friday night pre-games will never be the same again!

"People often ask me what music I listen to, and I find it difficult to describe my enormous music collection in just a few sentences. So I created iTSM to answer in sound a question I cannot answer in words.
iTSM selects a small number of your "favorite" tracks based on some simple selection criteria, such as the number of times you have played them or the rating you have assigned them. Then it analyzes the audio content of these files, combining a small bit of each of them to create the signature. - Jason Freeman"

Pandora is a music discovery service designed to help you find and enjoy music that you'll love. It's powered by the Music Genome Project, the most comprehensive analysis of music ever undertaken. Just insert one of your favorite songs or artists and Pandora will launch a streaming station of similar sounds to help you explore that part of the music universe.
"Pandoraâ„¢ is the doorway to this vast trove of musical information. With Pandora you can explore to your heart's content. Just drop the name of one of your favorite songs or artists into Pandora and let the Genome Project go. It will quickly scan its entire world of analyzed music, almost a century of popular recordings - new and old, well known and completely obscure - to find songs with interesting musical similarities to your choice. Then sit back and enjoy as it creates a listening experience full of current and soon-to-be favorite songs for you.
You can create as many "stations" as you want. And you can even refine them. If it's not quite right you can tell it more and it will get better for you.
The Music Genome Project was founded by musicians and music-lovers. We believe in the value of music and have a profound respect for those who create it. We like all kinds of music, from the most obtuse bebop, to the most tripped-out drum n bass, to the simplest catchy pop tune. Our mission is to help YOU connect with the music you like."
