By now you know the Cut party. Great music, free drinks, etc. etc. We are really excited this week because - on top of bringing legend Junior Sanchez to the tables - they've locked in Low Budget for the evening. While Diplo - Low Budget's partner in crime as Hollertronix - has been getting lots of play lately due to all the M.I.A. press (and we love Diplo over here as well) its a treat to hear LB drop the housier side of the duo's legendary sets. Expect dancing all night long. A highly recommended precursor to your nightcap at Rothko. Free Red Stripe from 10:00 - 11:00

Sloan after party

Top three reasons the sloan after party is sporatic:

1. Sloan will not be there. Instead, there will be DJ music by, Josh Iden (of Pop Wheelies), Miguel Mendez, and Nicole Atkins

2. In addition to the Free Baccardi bar from 12:30 - 1:30, there is free sambucca and that is just a bad idea

Free Drinks from AmEx?

tonycover.jpg

This free drinking opportunity is a bit more involved than most. Embark at your own risk. The IN:NYC card (You've seen their "survival kit" ads on the subway. Luckily, it seems as if they've added free drinks to the survival kit.) and Time Out NY are celebrating TONY's 10th birthday by giving away free vodka "marTONY's" (har har), with dinner serivce, at select restaurants. These nine participating IN:NYC restaurants are Calle Ocho, Django, Kitchen 22/82, Ono, 66, SushiSamba 7, Brasserio: Caviar & Banana, and Underbar. If you have the aforementioned credit card and go to one of these designated restaurants during the designated times, you get a swag bag, rumored to contain (you guessed it) martini glasses.

Date: August 10th
Time: varies w/ venue, see below
Venue: Calle Ocho:6-11pm, Django: 5:30-10:30pm, Kitchen 22: 5-10:30pm, Kitchen 82: 5-10:30pm, Ono: 5-11pm, 66 5:30-11pm, SushiSamba 7: 5:30-11pm, Underbar: 6-8pm, Brasserio: Caviar & Banana: 5-10pm

East Village boutiques GirlyNYC and Shady’s Waggery have teamed up with The Art Party and Bacardi (our favorite brunch drink mixed with pinapple juice) to exhibit modern takes on traditional art. And while there will be no Coco & Pinapple cocktails for me, there will be Razz Cosmos all night long.

Open Bars. Healthy on Both Accounts.

Glaceau-00.jpg

I would try to wax poetic about why you should go to the open bar hosted by MisShapes tonight, but I think this says it all: "Two-hour open vodka bar--that's huge. Also, [there's an] open Vitamin Water bar while supplies last. The open bar is going to make this ridiculous. Sweaty tits-ahoy." You get the point. It'll be total ridiculousness for nada. Be there around 10 to get first pick of your favorite VW, like Energy or Focus; don't think Drunk is one, but it could be. [swiped from myopenbar.com]

Corrosion

This one seems to always come in super late on Wednesday and I never put it up. But because they managed to mention Ministry in the email today, it made the list. So here's the deal. Screw all that bubblegum pop from the 80's and endulge your darker (and sadder) side with DJ Mister X spinning Siouxie, Bauhaus, the Cure, Ministry and more. Maybe if you are lucky there will be some Front242, Nitzer Ebb, and KMFDM (please sir thank you). Open bar from 9 - 10 gets you in the mood.

Beat, B-Beat, B-B-B Beat, Go Beat Club!

Friday's are lame. The bars are packed, the drinks are expensive, NYU girls are puking all over the street corners and you won't dare step foot in your local jaunts (or jawns if you got Philly style) because the turn lame at the end of the work week. Thankfully, the crew over at Beat Club keep bringing us a great, crowded-but-not-too-crowded, party each week with free beer AND free pizza (but not at the same time). Its all things 80's and 90's on the table from old school house to new wave madness as Rich Juzwiak joins in the fun and there is free beer from 1am - 2am. So after you are over being "so over" Union Pool (and going there anyway) then check this out.

Oh, and special Williamburg moment I heard out of my window last night, just for your enjoyment....

Joyous Maximus

It's time for Maximum Joy once again, the free booze invasion of the Adidas store. Maybe this time they'll rememeber the ice! There's an ambitious 3 hour open bar and music by Blu Jemz and Ge-ology who are both fantastic but can be caught any Tuesday for free at Opus22. Why do brands always throw parties with DJs i can see any day of the week? What kind of draw is that? Oh.... 3 hour open bar... got it.

Date: Thursday, October 6th
Time: 7:00pm
Location: Adidas Originals store (136 Wooster Street)
Cost: Free, bring flyer printout

Maxi-Mal

brennanj.jpg

It took me a while to find some info on this one but it seems that there is a new party at Happy Ending called Maxi-Mal on the first Thursday of the month. The keywords are right up our alley these days (industrial, NRG, acid breaks, freestyle and italo eclectro) and the 2 hr open bar from 10-12 and the giveaways from Lucky Jeans makes it a worth one to check out. Thursdays in NYC have been slacking lately... maybe this is the party to fire this town back up. DJ bio's after the fold curtesy of Repellentzine.

Date: Thursday, October 6th
Time: 10:00pm
Location: Happy Ending (302 Broome Street Between Forsyth and Eldridge)
Cost: Free
