As lovers of cask ale over here (what we often refer to lovingly as "warm, flat beer") we're exited for this weekend's Chelsea Brewery Cask Ale Festival with 40 rare cask conditioned ales on tap. Expect 25 to 30 casks to be pouring over the weekend, 12 at a time, including rare offerings not normally seen in cask in NYC. Beer range is courtesy of Alex Hall (BA: Imbiber) in conjunction with Lou Sones, the Brazen Head's manager.
Beer will come in half pint and 16oz measures, there's no entry fee and you pay by the glass.

"Open Studios present works by the 36 artists, artist groups and curators currently in residence at ISCP. Residents of ISCP employ a refreshingly diverse range of styles in the mediums of painting, drawing, photography, video, performance, sculpture and installation, all of which will be on view in their individual studios. Presented twice a year, ISCP Open Studios offer the public, art professionals and other enthusiasts access to cutting-edge contemporary art practices from around the world. These free events provide an exclusive peek into the production, process and personal archives of celebrated artists with global reputations, many of whom are showing their work in New York for the first time." "For three weeks, beginning November 5th, we are transforming 303GRAND into the PerkStreet Lounge – a three-week pop-up lounge ran by the financial services company, PerkStreet Financial. The PerkStreet Lounge will provide a work and lounge space with free coffee & Wi-Fi for the local community from noon-8pm each day, Nov. 5th-22nd. Eastville Comedy Club kicks open their door to FreeNYC readers tonight with a free comedy showcase. Catch sets by Esther Ku, Sherrod Small, and Eliot Change. All you have to do is call them up and mention FreeNYC to by pass the usual $20 cover. Keep in mind there is still a 2 drink minimum ($5-$8) but what's a little stand-up with out a few cold ones.
