The Boo Family Halloween
FreeNYC Event Flyer Date: Saturday, October 31st
Time: 5:00pm - 8:00pm
Location: Outside @Seaport (210 Front Street at Beekman)
Cost: Free
"On Halloween night, 'The Boo Family' mysteriously returns to haunt the cobblestone walkway outside 210 Front Street, in the historic district of The Seaport. Children and families out Trick or Treating are invited to stop by from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. to collect treats, take photos, and pay tribute to the Boos, who went missing 200 years ago the very night. Legend has it, that the Boo Family worked the docks as fishmongers in the early 1800s. While attempting to return home during an unexpected blizzard the evening of Oct. 31, 1809, Mr. and Mrs. Boo, along with their children Boo Jr., Little Miss Boo, and Baby Boo, as well as the family dog Bow Wow Boo, disappeared from the wooden piers of lower Manhattan... Okay, maybe the tale is a bit fishy. 'The Boo Family' is actually the creation of resident artist cum ex officio Seaport historian Naima Rauam."
