"Battery Dance Company presents the 28th Annual Downtown Dance Festival, a free seven day celebration of ethnic, classical, and contemporary dance performances from around the world. The festival will take place from August 17th - 22nd at two sites in Lower Manhattan: Chase Plaza and Battery Park. This year we are welcoming the return of the popular audience participation program, Everybody Dance Now!, now in its third year. At the end of each festival day, audiences will be invited to get up on stage with a company to learn and perform choreography. Battery Dance is also proud to announce our second year partnering with the Indo-American Arts Council, who will be curating a full day of Indian Dance at Chase Plaza as part of their Erasing Borders festival."
