Open City Dialogue (OCD) is a bi-monthly lecture series curated by Greenpoint resident James Hook, and unraveling on alternating Mondays in the backroom of Pete’s. Short (35-40 minute) lectures are woven together from the common thread of people’s obsessions, with guests coming from all over Greater New York. "Join David 'Get Your War On' Rees for a one-of-a-kind tutorial in how to win at games of chance. Mr. Rees will teach you how to win the lottery and how to win local neighborhood numbers games by picking the right numbers. He will explain which numbers pay out the best, which come up most often in lotteries, which numbers to avoid, etc. He will also tell people the 'must-know' nicknames that bookies use for various numbers... 'David Thomas Rees is a freelance wine consultant and budding fashion-industry insider. He used to make a cartoon called 'Get Your War On,' that combined bland clip art with outrageous 'trash talk' to incongruous effect, while baffling or disgusting some readers. He is currently looking for friends and business contacts . His motto is "Make that money, drink that wine."
