We're Nice People

FreeNYC Event Flyer

Date: Wednesday, July 8th
TIme: 7:30pm
Location: Parkside Lounge (317 E. Houston St.)
Cost: Free

"NYC comedians Brendan McLaughlin and David Smithyman are sick of playing slick, overpriced shows at Midtown comedy clubs. So sick, in fact, that they've teamed up to produce a show that’s completely the opposite. With a lineup made up of funny, clever people who won’t berate the audience and rip on minorities, it's bound to be a good, healthy, hilarious time for everyone. This month's stellar lineup includes: Christian Finnegan (Chappelle's Show, VH1's Best Week Ever, Comedy Central), Jena Friedman, Kyle Supley, Harrison Greenbaum, Brooke Van Poppelen. Check out werenicepeople.com for more info!"

RiverFlicks for Grown-Ups - Iron Man

FreeNYC Event Flyer

Date: Wednesday, July 8th
Time: Dusk (around 8:30pm)
Location: Pier 54 (14th St. and the Hudson River)
Cost: Free

On top of getting to watch movies overlooking Hudson River on beautiful summer nights, the other thing I like about River Flicks is that every year they pick a central theme for their screenings. This year's they "know what you did last summer" and screen films released in 2008. Tonight's film is Robert Downey Jr.'s mega blockbuster Iron Man.
