"Tropical Night at the Seaport Concert and Party will kick off the National Puerto Rican Day Parade weekend in celebration of the legendary Latin music superstar Eddie Palmieri and New York Spanish radio personality Polito Vega... This year, joining the Tropical Night event is the FiestaTour McDonald’s Music Experience, a traveling exhibit showcasing memorabilia from a variety of Latino music artists. The evening event will also include an induction ceremony during which Eddie Palmieri, 'The Son of Salsa' and Polito Vega, 'The Radio Voice of Salsa,' will donate a personal item to the FiestaTour McDonald's Music exhibit. McDonald’s will also kick off a city wide dance contest named “Bailando Con Sabor,” which culminates at Orchard Beach August 2009. Palmieri and his orchestra will also be the featured headliners for the free outdoor concert at the South Street Seaport, along with Orquesta La Excelencia and DJ Wreck."
