For every first Tuesday through April, the LMCC and Poetry Society of America bring you Poems & Pints. Each evening, two award winning poets read their own work and favorite poems by others. It all happens in the Nichols Room at Fraunces Tavern, a well-known meeting place since 1762 as well as the site of Washington’s farewell address and the first State and War Departments. Tonight's third reading features Edward Field (a Lambda Literary Award winner and Guggenheim Foundation Fellow) and Vijay Seshadri (a James Laughlin Award winner and recipient of the MacDowell Colony’s Fellowship for Distinguished Poetic Achievement). Short Plays about UFO’s and other aliens

along with Aporia by Paul David Young "Howard Pflanzer’s plays are eccentric flights of imagination. One explores the personal meaning of unexplained aerial phenomena… the other presents August Strindberg – a playwright not associated with the Living Theatre – as he discovers that iron and sulfur are constituents of gold (!). Mr. Young’s script, on the other hand, takes us to the disturbingly undeniable world of sex and American imperialism… a troubling combination…" All Ages.

While upstairs, the Disco Down crew bring some 80's love to the floor with an open vodka bar from 11:30-12. Seems like if you like free boozin, this is the place to be tonight. 21+
