Today, however, for one day only, the good folks at Velvet Cigars are waiving their BYOB charge for their patrons. So stop by the liquor store and pick up a nice Barolo and endulge (no free cigars, sorry).

Sanjuro (2007) Screening

Japanese filmmaker Haruki Kadokawa presents this 2007 remake of the Kurosawa classic, Sanjuro. Originally, Sanjuro was the first title ever in the motion picture history of Japan. This remake, and the upcoming rework of Yojimbo, were planned and realized as a homage to the master filmmaker. Tonight you can catch a rare US screening of the release for free. Presidental Debate Watching With Sparrow

"Like Ralph Nader and Dennis Kucinich before him, Sparrow has been barred from the 'official' Presidential Debates. So Rooftop Films, Rumur Inc. and Sound Fix Records are holding our own Debate, with our own candidate -- Sparrow. Hosted by Comedy Free Williamsburg, this will be a great time to kick back and giggle to stave off deep feelings of despair. A time to rally around the candidates we believe in, ridicule the candidates we despise, and celebrate the American political discourse which allows everyone to have their say -- even fringe crazies like the the Alaska Independence Party, Focus on the Family, Paris Hilton, and Sparrow." The line up for the night is as follows: 8 to 9 Comedy Free Williamsburg, 9 to 10:30 Presidential Debate (on the Big Screen) with drinking games, 10:30-11 Alternative Debate with Sparrow.
