"Monica Bill Barnes’ Game Face compares the show business motto of 'the show must go on with the current day’s view of high-finance business as an all-consuming self-sacrificing endeavor. Exploring a performer’s endurance and “do or die” attitude as an illustration of Wall Street’s reputation for tireless work, this new work is bizarre, exhausting and boldly funny. A cast of eight dancers is decked out in costumes inspired by Broadway musicals and larger-than-life Vegas shows. The audience will witness the effort and fatigue that result from 'performing' as the dancers fight against the odds with hilarious and heartbreaking results." All Ages.

Once again, I totally forget to post the event that I will be at tonight (that is, after I girl out at the Tift Merritt concert). But that doesn't mean you should overlook a rare NYC DJ set from the UK's own Adam Freelance at the weekly GBH party. As a solo artist, one half of Tsunami One, and head honcho of Marine Parade records, Adam has a longstanding reputation as one of the world's premier breakbeat DJs. His unique style fuses electro, funk, nu breaks, rock, and hip hop into a whirlwind of party beats. He's remixed everyone from The Doors to The Orb and has released chart topping club stormers such as the classic "We Want Your Soul." Personally, I have not seen him since he blew me away at Coachella a few years back and - add the rarity of breakbeat DJs in the state - you've got one nice night. Added support from Steve of Soulwax (A.K.A. One Man Party). 21+
