On top of the Koons exhibit already on display, the college group at the Met invites you to a whimsical evening of toys blown up to fantastic proportions and pianos the size of football fields. Stretch your perception of reality with the Metropolitan Museum's installation of sculptures by artist Jeff Koons on the Museum's roof and a screening of Dr. Seuss' only live-action feature film, The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T. You don't need a college ID, but priority seating will be given to college students. The event is free with museum admission, which they will tell you is $20, but last we checked it was just a suggested donation.

The folks over at Hudson River Park keep calling this River Flicks for Kids, but we're really into a bunch of these movies, so either the films are also for grown ups, or we're just into kid stuff. Tonight's kid flick is the Iron Giant. Besides getting to watch movies outside on beautiful summer nights on the Hudson River, the other thing I like about River Flicks is that the popcorn is always free. Seating is first come, first served, so you and your little ones may want to show up early.

DanceBrazil, at the suggestion of the late Alvin Ailey, was founded in 1977 by choreographer Jelon Vieira, who is widely credited for introducing Afro-Brazilian dance and Capoeira to the US. Today, the company’s mission is to create dances inspired by Mr. Vieira’s love and understanding of his native Bahia, which have the capacity to further the development and understanding of Brazilian/Afro-Brazilian based culture. The evening will feature a performance of “Ritmos”, Mr. Vieira’s homage to Capoeira. Max Pollak inventively melds Latin rhythms, jazz, tap dance, and body percussion to create RumbaTap, a company comprised of a multi-talented, international cast. Pollak, named one of “25 to Watch in 2007” by Dance Magazine, is also responsible for conceiving the first-ever tap festival in Cuba. RumbaTap has been performed, taught and exhibited all over the world.

The Pull-Out Method is boasting "a real find" tonight in VDRK and Bradley D, boasting "DJs that can actually mix. Clearly, those Pull-Out dudes have been spending too much time listening to DJs in bars and not in clubs if they think seemless mixing is a lost art these days.
