"Merging classical craft and with the rhythmic energy of modern culture, the Juilliard Music Technology Center presents its eighth annual festival of electronic and interactive music, Beyond the Machine 8.0: The Art of the Groove, featuring works by current Juilliard composers, alumni, and guest composers. Drawing on themes ranging from robots and shamanism to culture clash and talk shows, these new electronic compositions include Jakub Ciupiński’s Elvex; Jeremiah Duarte Bills’ Incantation; Scott Johnson’s Americans); Ryan Francis’ Music for Strings; JacobTV’s Lipstick; and Ron Ford’s Salome First. Jeffrey Milarsky conducts Juilliard’s newest and just about busiest ensemble AXIOM in the evening of new compositions. All Ages
