"Dargerism looks at the influence of this self-taught artist's remarkable artwork on eleven contemporary artists whose work....paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography, music, videos and a site specific installation...contributes to a compelling dialogue with a selection of Darger's mythic and magnificent watercolors. The American Folk Art Museum is home to the single largest collection of paintings, books, ephemera and archival material by this reclusive Chicago artist, some of which is on view in Dargerism." Admission is free, there will be live music, drink specials, four floors of artwork, and tours with curator Brooke Davis Anderson. Plus performances from Jodi Saw, Kat, Kagero and Old Springs Pike. List of artists after the jump.
