So I am totally back on the jazz kick tonight. Fell into a couple great live shows this week and I am hooked again. Jazz is one of the greatest reasons to live in NYC. Unfortunately, its also quite a pricey ticket sometimes. Thankfully, the good folks of the Rhythm Road series are back in town again. The Rhythm Road: American Music Abroad program presents selected professional jazz and urban music performers on concert tours to countries where there is limited exposure to live American culture. Prior to their departure to Egypt, Kosovo and many other destinations, these bands will perform in Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola. This afternoon catch sets by Devin Phillips & New Orleans Straight Ahead at 1 and The Dana Leong Band (featuring FreeNYC faves Jason Lindner on keys and Baba Israel on vocals) at 3. First come first served and there is probably a $5 or $10 drink minimum.
