The Fashion Institute of Technology's Art Market Master's program presents, "Locus," a group show featuring Linda Ganjian, Chambliss Giobbi, Caitlin Hurd, Ran Hwang, Sandy Litchfield, NATSU, Noah Post, Donna Ruff, and Arlene Rush.
I happen to be part of said Master's program, so please come down, check out some art, get a drink and support. Full details below.
Locus is a group show that explores ways in which we personally, socially, and physically situate ourselves. When thinking about 'place,' we search for understanding and meaning in terms of both personal and cultural identity. As we explore and react to our surroundings we simultaneously plan and prepare for the next space that we will inhabit in the physical, mental, and emotional realms. While we may reach no definite conclusions, our struggle to grapple with our place, purpose, and identity is ever present.
This exhibition includes works by Linda Ganjian, Chambliss Giobbi, Caitlin Hurd, Ran Hwang, Sandy Litchfield, NATSU, Noah Post, Donna Ruff, and Arlene Rush. Through painting, sculpture, photography, and video art, these artists question place, identity, and purpose by observing and reflecting on the impact of their environment.
Locus is a collaborative curatorial project by the candidates for the Master of Arts degree in Art Market: Principles and Practices at the Fashion Institute of Technology. The program thanks our exhibition sponsor, Two Trees Management Co. LLC for its support.
