Here's another time-tested secret for you free-hunters out there. The New School's Performance Space is probably one of the best rooms to here free jazz in the city. Comprised of the jazz program's ex-pat's and rising stars, you'd pay some serious loot (plus drink minimum) to catch these cats at the likes of Sweet Rhythm or Smalls. Tonight a particularly sweet bill as noted keyboardist Adam Holzman's directs the Electric Miles Ensemble, an 8-piece collective dedicated to the late works of the musical genius (think Bitches Brew, On the Corner, and Tutu.) All Ages!

Sushi Prince Premier Screening

"The Sushi Prince" is an action comedy film mixing the two popular aspects of Japanese culture,"Sushi" and "Karate". Koichi Domoto, Japan's most beloved and celebrated actor of his generation stars in the film as"Sushi Prince" himself, showcasing brilliant stunts. The cast also includes Tsuyoshi Ihara from Golden Globe winning film, "Letters from Iwo Jima" (Directed by Clint Eastwood) and Yumiko Shaku, a Japanese highly acclaimed actress. There will be a small sushi reception before the screening. All Ages.
