Taschen Warehouse Sale

This weekend is Taschen's bi-annual warehouse book sale. If you are looking to buy some art or design books, this is definitely the place to be as literally thousands of books will be sold at 50-75% off the cover price. In addition, there will also be a selection of rare and out-of-print Taschen books (like The Stanley Kubrick Archives, The Complete Works of Leonardo DaVinci, The Wood Book, REM Koolhaus’s Project on the City etc.) and discounted copies of the collector’s editions. You should be aware that many of these books are slightly damaged or display copies.

BRC's Children of the Revolution

"The Black Rock Coalition presents a weekend residency titled “Revolution as a Work in Progress, Part II: Children of the Revolution.” The weekend will feature a mixed-generation of musicians, singers, and poets performing from a songbook of protest music from the last 25 years." Founded in 1985 by guitarist Vernon Reid, journalist Greg Tate and producer Konda Mason in reaction to the constrictions that the commercial music industry places on Black artists, the BRC is a collective of artists, writers, producers, publicists, activists and
music fans assembled to maximize exposure and provide resources for Black artists who defy convention. To date, the BRC is the only national nonprofit organization dedicated to the complete creative freedom of Black artists.
