Governors Island Closes

It's your last chance to check out historic Governors Island for free. Free ferries leave every hour and are located right next to the Staten Island Ferry terminal. I went last weekend and it is like no other place in New York, the juxtaposition of colonial homes, lush meadows then Manhattan's skyline jutting out in between the trees is amazing! Bring a picnic, a blanket, a frisbee and prepare to relax. Don't miss your chance too see the breath taking views. Check their website for history and overview.

Wet Nurse

Wet Nurse is a waterside disco version of Hello, Nurse!, a collab party between New Release and Re:Up with Egyptian Lover in February and Luke Vibert back in November of last year. This time its Norwegean neo-disco don Prins Thomas who will lay down the perfect beats for a sunny, Sunday afternoon. Plus, there's organic grilling happening all day, spiked punch, kiddie pools and canoe rides to keep it fun all day long. Joining in the music duties are My Cousin Roy, the head of Wurst Edits, and Justin Carter and DJ Probus, the Hello, Nurse! residents. The music, no doubt, will be good, but people the player below for some audio convincing. Get those advance tix else its a worthy $10 (flying in DJs is expensive). 21+

It’s that bittersweet night where you realize summer’s coming to a close. But Chez Music boss Neil Aline and longtime NYC house staple DJ Angola are tipping the scales with sugar in the form of some stellar DJs this evening. Upstairs with Angola is Busy P, the man behind Ed Bangers Records, the Gallic phenomenon that’s got big room bangers larger than ever with releases from Justice, Mr. Oizo, and even Mr. P himself. Downstairs Mr. Aline’s got another amazing man-of-the-hour in Dixon. Dixon’s label Innervisions, though sparse in output, has released a couple of the biggest tracks of the last two years—Stefan Goldmann’s ‘Sleepy Hollow’ and Amé’s ‘Rej’. Beyond his label’s cred, Dixon’s rep still precedes him. A recent mix for Berlin’s Get Physical Records put him at the forefront of international DJs, mixing together tracks spanning from Thom Yorke to Timo Maas.
