This event is part of David Bowie's first H&M High Line Festival, which will also include a multimedia installation that brings to life the work of Cahun and her life-long partner, Moore."
First the film screening of "Lover Other", then a panel discussion with Shelly Rice, THEN a performance by drag king Murray Hill (he is HILARIOUS) and Le Tigre's JD Samson.
Did I mention its FREE?? Click below for more details.

Film Screening of Lover Other: Aperture will present three screenings of Lover Other, a sixty-minute documentary on the lives of Cahun and Moore by award-winning filmmaker Barbara Hammer. The film illuminates the groundbreaking art of these gender-bending artists who lived and worked together for more than forty years and whose staged self-portraits have attracted a worldwide cult following. The film combines photographs, archival footage, and dramatic interludes of a "found Cahun script." Barbara Hammer will be available to answer questions in between the screenings.

Panel Discussion: Shelly Rice, an associate arts professor at New York University, and a leading authority on Claude Cahun and Marcel Moore, will lead a discussion on the art of these extraordinary women. Additional panelist: filmmaker Barbara Hammer.

Live Performance: The discussion will be followed by a live performance from the outrageous New York comedian and drag king Murray Hill and JD Samson of the feminist electro punk band Le Tigre.
