Mannes Contemporary Music Festival

Check in with the New School's music department tonight as they host a number of free concerts open to the public, including two shows, one at 8 and another at 10:30 featuring their percussion ensemble. Think six marimbas going at the same time, Concerto for Shinobue (Japanese flute) and percussion, etc."The Mannes Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of James Preiss, is dedicated to performing both new and classic solo and ensemble works for percussion." Spitshine at Goodbye Blue Monday

Tonight, all four members members of the abstract beat mining collective - individually known as Count Porkcholois SS, Zerbrablood, Mr. Impossible, and Sexydancer - join our favorite electro disco fun-makers Jeremy Cambell and Dan Selzer at their midweek rant, Dazzle Ships. As always, expect the unexpected (that means I have no idea what it is going to sound like but it'll probably be somewhere along these lines).
