Astroland Opening

This is that last summer for Coney Island's Astroland before the big Disney recking ball brings it to rubble (little tear). Today's is the opening ceremony and the first 100 people will get to ride free ride on the Cyclone. For everyone else, its $12.99 for unlimited Astroland rides (limit 4 trips on that legendary, rickety coaster). If you don't make it today, make sure you hit up Coney at some point this summer as this were loosing a pretty legendary part of NYC (another little tear).

Closing night party for the New York Underground Film Festival

Come get sweaty in the basement with cinephiles from the five boroughs and around the world as they unite to celebrate a common bond that transcends all cultures: FREE PBR. That's right, everyone's friends at Pabst are sponsoring the closing night festivities for the New York Underground Film Festival, held appropriately enough, on the ground floor of everyone's favorite somewhat reformed massage parlor, Happy Ending. If you haven't been to this den of iniquity, now is your chance, especially on a Sunday night when there is free beer for the pounding, and most likely tons of tipsy, well-informed film people looking to chit chat.
