All Hail Haale

One of my roommates is a studio engineer and has been working with this female vocalist Haale. So sometimes when he is poking around in the mini recording studio which he calls his bedroom, I get to eavesdrop on what he has been working on. The long of it is Haale and her band create "swirling, hypnotic, and exaltative experience onstage, weaving Persian melodies through a lush soundscape that pays homage to Sufi musical traditions and pschedelic rock. Though she sings mostly in Persian, the music speaks all languages, loudly, passionately, defiantly." The short of it is, she is playing a free show in the BAM Cafe tonight, and its definitely worth checking out.

Listen to Haale here.

Date: Friday, December 9th
Time: 9pm
Venue: Peter Jay Sharp Building, 30 Lafayette Ave. Brooklyn
Cost: Free
