Free Ice Skating at Wollman Rink - College Night!

If you're in college or have some college students' ID, you better go ice skating tonight. Come on, it's free. And Wollman Rink in Central Park is beautiful. They say this is their way of promoting the opening for the 2005/2006 season, but you can just see it as "something to do in Central Park at night that won't get you mugged (maybe)." There will be a live DJ so you won't hear any of that lame elevator muzak; plus there will be giveaways and door prizes. Can you beat that?

Ace Fu Chinese BBQ (halloween edition)

Every once and a while I will brave The Delancey - packed full of tourist hipsters and one of the worst internal layouts I have ever seen - for a good band or a good deal. Tonight kind of has both. Michael Leviton performs, there is a free BBQ from 7-8, and free beer from 9-10. there are also giveaways from Ace Fu Records, Stop Smiling Magazine, and Neighborhoodies making (no, not hoodies!) tee shirts on the spot.

Avant Guardian Gala

Gala always makes me think of fancy party dresses. Surface Mag always makes me think of stark black suits. Woordford Reserve sponsorship always makes me think of drunken bourbon hooligan activities. Wow.. big up to this undisclosed promoter for bringing Baltimore's best - Scottie B - to one of the cities best systems. Plus, its rare that a good throw down at APT has no cover... but this one does... and an open bar from 9-10 of Red Bull and Vodka. If you have been hearing me rant about Baltimore Club music for the last month or so and have not gone out to anything then this is your official popping. Start early and stay late.

The Chop Hop

Every once and a while the guys at Troma Films - makers of personal favorites such as Class of Nuke'em High and Cannibal! The Musical - throw a really good party. These boys know fake gore better than Gwar so expect dancing zombies, hula hooping goth girls, and all sorts of bloody suprises at this 50's styled "sock hop" throwdown. Free Energy Vodka and Pabst from 10-11 get you ready for the evening while DJs Jumpin' Jorge Fame and Hollidave Mason provide the soundtrack to this perfect Thursday night jump off. Costumes welcome but not mandatory... DVD givaways... Oh, and did I mention the Tromettes?

Trick or Freak

Matt from Pay2Cum has put together a pre holloween throw down tonight. There is an open vodka bar from 12-1 and some sort of keg beer action thing going on. Before and after that you can drink 32oz. Buds for $6 which is really not a big deal because thats just 2 $3 pints in one bottle. I can only expect the music will be a sort of booty shaking houston x baltimore throwdown.
