[all kidding aside, the NYUL "is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, multi-ethnic, social service organization celebrating its 85th anniversary in 2004. Through direct service delivery, advocacy, referrals, community capacity building, information dissemination and technical assistance, the League accomplishes its mission to improve social and economic conditions and opportunities for African-Americans and other people who face barriers to full participation in American society." Band Wagon

The Central Park Film Festival Continues tonight with Fred Astaire in Band Wagon. Since I have no idea what this movie is, here's what Amazon has to say: "The Band Wagon (1953) marked the culmination of a series of near-autobiographical pictures Fred Astaire made for MGM following his return from premature retirement in the late '40s. Astaire plays Tony Hunter, a fading film star who decides to return to his former glory, the Broadway stage. Even if its ending and obligatory romance fall a little flat, The Band Wagon is one of the classic backstage musicals, a grandiose MGM spectacle that also manages to poke some fun at how grandiose MGM pictures had become. --David Horiuchi "

You Can Run But You Can't Hide

New Mind Space which has brought given us all sorts of child like fun in past has set up a game of Manhunt today down on Wall Street. Kid games in very grown up area seems like a great idea to me. "The totally regressive game of hide and seek with a run-like-mad urban flair. We invite you to join us on Wall Street, to run among cobblestones, winding paths and echoes of the original Dutch colony of New Amsterdam. Hide behind pillars and sprint down brick alleyways, evading capitalists among skyscrapers for a night of summer joy. We will be meeting on the SE corner of Wall Street & Broadway at 9:00 PM on Thursday, August 25th... This is manhunt with a twist: traders exchange fake money with each other as players are tagged and the investor with the most cash at the end of the game wins. The streets are your playground!" Check out the full set of rules here. Oh and they do mean business, this game happens rain or shine!
Date: Thursday, August 25th
Time: 9pm
Location: Wall Street and Broadway on the SE corner
Cost: Free
