'Sup with Cliktrax

050824-supclix.jpg

Throughout the summer, Cliktrax has been invading the Soho Grand and doing a sort of chill-out multimedia session with DJs and video projections. Best of all, they have been doing it outdoors on the lawn. Tonight is the final one of these events and Gordon Hull/Daniel Jacketson from Surface2Air will be DJing. The drinks are a bit steep in the swanky Grand but snag your flask and relax on the lawn.

Date: Wednesday, August 24th
Time: 7:00pm - 11:00pm
Venue: Yard at Soho Grand (310 West Broadway)
Cost: Free with RSVP

The End All and Be All of Slacker Films

"Alright, alright, alright" Dazed and Confused is one of my all time favorites, and today I get to watch it outside by the water. In case you have never seen it, the movie chronicles the last day of school for a bunch of kids in 1976. Of course that night there are tons of parties featuring hook-ups, drinking, pranks and you know, just a little pot smoking here and there.

Date: Wednesday, August 24th
Time: Dusk (around 8:30pm)
Venue: Pier 54 (Hudson River and 14th street)
Cost: Free

Corrosion

This one seems to always come in super late on Wednesday and I never put it up. But because they managed to mention Ministry in the email today, it made the list. So here's the deal. Screw all that bubblegum pop from the 80's and endulge your darker (and sadder) side with DJ Mister X spinning Siouxie, Bauhaus, the Cure, Ministry and more. Maybe if you are lucky there will be some Front242, Nitzer Ebb, and KMFDM (please sir thank you). Open bar from 9 - 10 gets you in the mood.

Date: Wednesday, August 24th
Time: 9:00pm
Venue: Luke & Leroy (21 7th Ave at Leroy)
Cost: Free
