Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings

S Jones Thumb
Sharon Jones was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia, and like many great soul singers began her career singing in the church choir on Sundays. It wasn’t long before she was performing with top soul acts the Four Tops, Peaches and Herb, and The Drifters, and captivating audiences with her powerfully smoky-sweet voice. Her electrifying spirituality has earned her many instant classics on the underground funk scene, crowning her “The Queen of Funk.” She’s joined on stage by Daptone Records house band The Dap Kings.
